Torrefied Wheat from Fawcett – 25 kg bag
Torrefied Wheat is heat-treated, unmalted wheat for brewing beer. The heat treatment makes the grain's starches more readily available in the mash, while the wheat contributes fullness, a smooth mouthfeel and good head retention.
For many different types of beer
The product can be used in, among other things, pale ale, bitter, stout and other beers where you want a tighter and more stable head without a distinct wheat malt flavour. The colour is very pale at approx. 3.5 EBC.
Use in the mash
Torrefied wheat is added to the mash along with enzymatically active base malt. The product is not malted and therefore does not have sufficient enzyme activity to convert its own starch.
